49 MSMEs Propose ₹2,321 Crore Investment In Pune's Chakan-Bhosari Belt: CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Wednesday that 49 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have proposed investments totaling ₹2,321.97 crore in the Chakan-Bhosari industrial belt of Pune district. These investments, formalized via memorandums of understanding (MoUs), are anticipated to enhance production capacity, create numerous jobs, and bolster the industrial ecosystem in the Pune region.

Speaking at an event, Fadnavis emphasized that the MSME sector would reinforce Maharashtra's position as a key engine of economic and industrial growth. He also announced that the state government plans to conduct an MSME census to gather information on the number, nature, employment generation, production capacity, and requirements of such units in Maharashtra.

This census will aid in formulating more effective policies and providing better facilities to the sector. The industries signing the MoUs are projected to commence production within one to two years, and the Industries Department and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) will swiftly provide them with land, infrastructure, and other essential facilities.

Fadnavis revealed that the government is striving to modernize outdated industrial estates, transforming them into self-sufficient industrial cities with dedicated administrative mechanisms. The industrial city concept aims to offer a clean, industry-friendly environment that facilitates fresh investments and expansion of existing units.

Industries Minister Uday Samant stated that the Chakan region is set to attract significant investments, and infrastructure-related concerns are being addressed as a top priority. He dismissed allegations of entrepreneurs relocating from the Chakan-Bhosari belt, noting that no entrepreneur has left the state and investors continue to have faith in Maharashtra's investment climate and the state government.
