2027: Why Peter Obi will defeat Tinubu, Atiku – Sam Amadi

Sam Amadi, Director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, predicts that Peter Obi will emerge victorious in the 2027 Nigerian presidential elections over President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar. In an interview on Symfoni TV, Amadi pointed out that the electoral map does not ensure a win for Tinubu and Atiku. He explained that President Tinubu entered the 2023 election as the one believed to have manipulated Lagos State politics with minimal campaigning.

Amadi believes that the Nigerian youth are gravitating towards Obi, who is the former Anambra State governor. He attributed this support to the outcome of the 2023 election, stating that if the 2023 poll had been conducted fairly and transparently, Obi would have become President. Amadi noted that there was a growing sentiment that Nigeria required a fresh perspective, a point he linked to the unrest that ensued during the 2020 EndSARS protests.

He recalled that during the 2023 election, Obi commanded almost half of the electorate, with notable victories in Rivers, Plateau, and some Northern states. However, these achievements were not officially recognized by INEC, who failed to declare Obi the winner.
