12 men arrested after weapons-fuelled brawl in Kota Tinggi

A 20-year-old aspiring medical student from Madhya Pradesh was found deceased in her rented apartment in Kota, police announced on Wednesday (August 26, 2026). The victim, who was preparing for the NEET examination for the second time, was discovered at her residence in Landmark City under the Kunhadi police station area by her younger sister, also a coaching student in Kota, after returning from classes on Tuesday night.

Police have not found a suicide note and are still investigating the cause of her death. The 20-year-old had reportedly been distressed after scoring around 450 marks in her previous NEET-UG attempt. Upon finding the apartment door locked from the inside, her sister attempted to enter, but after repeated knocks and no response, she sought help from friends, security guards, and neighbors.

A locksmith was eventually called to open the door, leading to the discovery of her sister's body, which was subsequently rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival. Police have registered a case based on a complaint from the victim's grandfather and are conducting further investigations. This marks the eighth reported suicide among coaching students in Kota since January of this year.
