Yogi makes youth outreach, announces 1 lakh govt jobs in 6 months

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made an attempt to connect with young people following protests over alleged paper leaks across various states. On Tuesday, the CM announced that the state government will be providing appointment letters to 1 lakh young candidates within the next six months. During a gathering at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Adityanath addressed 3,446 newly selected technical assistants (Group-C) from the Agriculture Department and 126 mandi secretaries chosen by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) through the Mission Rozgar scheme.

He claimed to have provided government jobs to over 9.30 lakh youth over the past nine years in a "transparent manner and without any discrimination".

Addressing concerns of a sugar crisis due to rising prices, the CM assured that there was no shortage of sugar in Uttar Pradesh as the state already has supplies for seven months. The state commissions and boards were said to be successfully giving appointments to eligible candidates based on merit, without any discrimination and according to reservation rules using a transparent process.

Adityanath urged the newly selected candidates to support the state's future generation and the nation, emphasizing the importance of honest duty performance. The CM also assured officials that there would be no government interference in their work.

Asserting that no government interference took place in the selection process, Adityanath highlighted that more than 9.30 lakh candidates had received appointment letters over the past nine years, and no one could question the selection process. He targeted the Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and his family, stating that during his tenure, the government had "broken the backbone of the cheating mafia" and exposed their ringleaders, including seizing their properties.

The CM criticized the previous SP government for facilitating cheating and causing poor conditions for UP Board examinations, which were conducted for months, affecting students' studies. He further mentioned the success of the examination process, stating that the UP Board examinations are now conducted within a month, with results announced within 14 days.
