Woods set for first in-person court appearance over DUI charge

Tiger Woods is set to make his first appearance in person before a judge since a car accident on March 27. The golfer, 50, will face two misdemeanor charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test in Martin County, Florida, on Tuesday, September 8, at 8:30am according to recent reports. Woods, who pleaded not guilty, was found with two hydrocodone pills in his pocket during a police response to the crash in Jupiter Island, Florida.

Although alcohol was not detected in his system via a breathalyzer test, he refused a urine test. Prosecutors have extended the investigation, securing access to Woods' hospital records from the day of the accident. The legal proceedings, including his court date, have been delayed several times due to this process. Woods' attorney, Douglas Duncan, is seeking a jury trial.
