‘Will not make such a mistake again’: Gwalior man fined over car covered in lipstick kiss marks

An ambitious Gwalior man sought to create a viral sensation by covering his white Swift car with approximately 3,400 lipstick kiss marks. The unusual and daring decoration gained significant traction on Instagram, racking up thousands of views. However, the unexpected consequence was a run-in with the law. A video of the car, allegedly speeding through the City Centre area, surfaced online, prompting traffic police to trace the vehicle to its owner, Aditya Sikarwar.

Police conducted an investigation using details from the video and located the car in the Thatipur area. Upon discovering the car, the Traffic Police Station in charge, Abhishek Raghuvanshi, traced it back to Aditya Sikarwar, who was subsequently summoned for questioning. The unusual car decoration fell under the Motor Vehicles Act, which outlines rules for alterations to motor vehicles.

Sikarwar, an Instagram content creator, revealed that his friend had initiated the idea after witnessing a similar trend on social media. The entire process, including the creation of the lipstick marks, took around three-and-a-half hours and cost him around Rs 800-900. Sikarwar admitted that the stunt was aimed at boosting the reach of his social-media content and gaining more followers.

The viral video led to a Rs 5,500 fine and the arduous task of removing every lipstick mark from his car. After paying the fine and cleaning the vehicle at the traffic police station, Sikarwar expressed remorse for his actions, vowing to adhere to traffic regulations and avoid repeating the stunt in the future.
