WAFU B Women’s Champions League: Edo Queens provide update on Boboye’s appointment

Edo Queens have provided an update on the appointment of Kennedy Boboye to lead the team for the WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. According to the DAILY POST, Boboye, who is the technical adviser of the Nigeria Premier Football League side Bendel Insurance, is stepping in for the club’s main coach, Moses Adukwu, who is currently on international duty.

The Edo Queens technical staff, including Boboye, has been working closely with the players to prepare them for the tournament. The club's statement revealed that the decision to bring in Boboye was not a spur-of-the-moment choice but rather a result of careful planning, with the team camped for three weeks under his guidance. Edo Queens' head coach, Nosakhare Igunma, explained to News Central TV that Adukwu would not be joining the team for the qualifiers, necessitating the recruitment of Boboye.

The new leader solidified the tactical knowledge built by the previous coaching staff, as evidenced by Edo Queens' impressive 7-0 victory over AS Garde NN in their opening match at the Stade 4 Août Stadium in Ouagadougou.
