Tamil Nadu CM Vijay plans new international airport near Chennai after scrapping Parandur project

The Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister C Vijay, is planning to build a new international airport near Chennai in response to increasing passenger and cargo demands, as indicated in the Industries Policy Note. The state aims to find alternative locations for this airport, in collaboration with experts. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will evaluate the suitability of these proposed sites. The final decision on proceeding with the project will be made by the government, following the AAI's assessment report.
