Takoradi MP Supports Students With Trunks, Mattresses

Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Takoradi, has distributed free school trunks and mattresses to Junior High School graduates in his constituency who are preparing to enter Senior High School. This donation was made at the Railway and Harbour Electoral Area of the constituency, aiming to alleviate financial burdens on parents and ensure a smooth transition to boarding and day schools. The initiative is part of the MP's Community Education Fund, which was established in 2009.

Emmanuel Avudor, the New Patriotic Party's Communication Officer for Takoradi, explained that the donation is the launching of the program, which will be carried out in all 15 electoral areas within the constituency. The MP has also initiated other social intervention programs, including the Kobby Entrepreneurship Fund, Kobby Healthcare Fund, and Kobby Youth Investment, all aimed at enhancing the living standards of the people.

Additionally, the MP has established a Talents and Sports Agency to nurture and harness the youth's potential.

Justice Maxwell Acquah, the Takoradi Constituency Chairman of the party, noted that this was the first donation in the electoral area but not the first in the constituency. He highlighted the MP's commitment to improving education, such as the construction of a computer laboratory and the establishment of scholarship schemes. The MP, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, emphasized that education is his top priority and that the donation serves as encouragement to students who excel academically, ensuring they are rewarded for their hard work.
