Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.54%

Taiwan stocks experienced an upward trend as trading came to a close on Tuesday, driven by gains in the Plastic, Optoelectronic, and Financials sectors. The Taiwan Weighted index rose by 0.54%. Notably, Taiflex Scientific Co Ltd (TW:8039) achieved all-time highs, surging 10.00% to 291.50. Other top performers included Siward Crystal Technology Co Ltd (TW:2484) and Bestec Power Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3308), both gaining 9.99% and 9.98% respectively.

Conversely, Lintes Technology Co Ltd (TW:6715) and Transcend Information Inc (TW:2451) were among the worst performers, with declines of 9.91% and 5.38%. The number of stocks that declined surpassed those that rose, with 564 falling compared to 437 advancing. In total, 117 shares closed unchanged. Meanwhile, crude oil for October delivery experienced a slight dip of 0.61% to $84.49 per barrel, while November Brent oil decreased by 0.65% to $89.95 per barrel.

Gold Futures for December rose marginally by 0.02% to $4,698.64 per troy ounce. USD/TWD appreciated by 0.19% to 31.91, and TWD/CNY remained unchanged at 0.21. The US Dollar Index Futures also increased by 0.09% to 99.02.
