The standard contract includes provisions that prohibit unfair practices such as unilaterally changing contract terms, deducting fees from delivery workers' pay, and forcing them to purchase specific goods or services. It also stipulates that delivery workers should be covered by social insurance, including employment insurance and industrial accident compensation insurance. The Ministry plans to promote the use of the standard contract and monitor the implementation of fair practices by supermarkets. The move is expected to improve working conditions and protect the rights of supermarket delivery workers, who number around 250,000 in Korea. The standard contract will take effect on July 1st.
