Speed Up VBG RAM G Scheme Implementation To Create More Jobs: Minister Bharat Gogawale

Mumbai, August 25, 2026: Maharashtra's Employment Guarantee Scheme Minister Bharat Gogawale has ordered a swift ramp-up of the VBG RAM G scheme to generate more job opportunities for the state's citizens. Addressing officials at a meeting at Mantralaya, Gogawale emphasized the vital role of the Employment Guarantee Department in providing jobs and financial assistance to rural families.

He urged all officials to ensure no deserving person experiences a lack of employment and advocated for enhanced coordination among the team.

The minister commended Nandurbar district for its commendable performance under the scheme and expressed satisfaction with the advancements in several other districts such as Ahilyanagar, Yavatmal, Nashik, Chandrapur, Jalgaon, Amravati, Nanded, Buldhana, Latur, and Kolhapur. Gogawale directed districts with fewer ongoing works to promptly increase employment-generating activities.

The VBG RAM G scheme now encompasses 318 types of works, ranging from housing and school compound walls to toilets, water conservation, irrigation wells, and disaster management projects. Gram panchayats have been tasked with raising awareness and ensuring the effective implementation of the scheme. The minister also stressed the significance of timely wage payments, warning that action would be taken if any payments remained pending despite available funds.

He directed officials to ensure that workers complete e-KYC and maintain accurate records of attendance and work.

Gogawale further ordered the speedy completion of pending NREGA housing works and the implementation of PMAY projects. Maharashtra has been allocated a target of approximately 20 lakh houses under PMAY-2, while the government is seeking around Rs 2,850 crore in funds from the Centre. Officials were also directed to prepare five-year development plans for every gram panchayat.
