SpaceX invertirá 85.500 millones en un centro de lanzamiento de cohetes en Luisiana

SpaceX plans to invest an estimated $85.5 billion in a rocket launch center in Louisiana, marking the company's largest launch facility to date. This significant investment, announced alongside Louisiana state authorities, will enable the company to conduct thousands of spacecraft launches annually. The complex is expected to create 3,000 direct jobs within the next decade, with an average annual salary of $92,600 - more than double the regional average.

This ambitious project will transform Louisiana into a global hub for cutting-edge aerospace industry, boasting the capacity and infrastructure required to dramatically increase launch frequency and expand space access. Vermillion Parish, where the future facility will be located, will serve as the fourth and largest SpaceX launch site.

The project also includes a fuel manufacturing plant, power generation, vehicle processing, and employee housing. SpaceX is preparing to build a "spaceport" that has only existed in science fiction until now. Founded to enable human exploration of the stars, SpaceX aims to make space travel as commonplace as air travel, and Louisiana's new launch center will bring that vision a step closer to reality.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 on land purchased by Louisiana authorities and leased to SpaceX, with the first launch expected in 2029. This announcement marks a crucial moment for Louisiana, as it drives the state towards $250 billion in new investments and places it at the center of the next major frontier. Governor Jeff Landry declared the news as a significant milestone for the state.
