She begged for years. After her death, Rs 8.4 lakh found at her home

In Karnataka, India, a 68-year-old woman named Hoor led a life of begging, despite years of arduous work. Sadly, she passed away due to an age-related illness. Upon hearing of her demise, a shocking discovery was made in her rented home in Mandya - sacks containing thousands of coins and cash were found. According to PTI, the woman had amassed a total of Rs 8.4 lakh in cash.

Upon inspecting the house, residents were astounded to find more than 30 sacks packed with coins and currency notes among her belongings. Two sisters shared a video from the house, showcasing residents sorting through and counting the money. The cash primarily consisted of Rs 10 and Rs 20 notes, along with a substantial quantity of coins.

Hoor resided in the rented house with her sister, both of whom were unmarried and lived together until the sister's death two years ago. After her sister's demise, Hoor continued to live there and supported herself by begging. Her two brothers received the money found at the house. The video has since spread across various social media platforms, eliciting a range of reactions.

One user wrote, "She can't be called a beggar; they beg because they literally have nothing else to do." Another commented, "This much money would have been sufficient for the rest of her life, combined with dozens of government schemes given for the poor." However, some expressed concern, stating, "I've actually met such a woman in person; she has an account in a post office."
