Punjab to Upgrade Lahore’s Major Road

Lahore’s Ferozepur Road is undergoing a substantial upgrade, with the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) developing a detailed plan to enhance the road and its surrounding areas. The project spans approximately 15 kilometers from Lahore Canal to Gajjumata. Engineers from the LDA Engineering Wing have crafted the plan, incorporating sustainable design principles inspired by the Gulberg development model.

Enhancements include road repairs, pedestrian walkways, tiling, and designated seating areas. The LDA also intends to enforce consistent architectural styles for buildings, upgraded signage, and new sidewalks alongside the road. Currently, work is underway to revamp Ferozepur Road in Lahore.

The LDA is additionally focused on improving markets along Ferozepur Road, including the creation of dedicated pedestrian zones in front of shops. This strategy mirrors the market rehabilitation efforts in Ichhra. Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Ferozepur Road, Nishtar, and Youhanabad, observing the road's potholes and deteriorated condition. She instructed the LDA to expedite the road's rehabilitation.
