Pakistan's interior minister reports major progress in talks with Iran

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reported significant advancements during his recent talks with Iranian officials, focusing on the US-Israeli war against Iran and potential paths to peace. The conclusion of a visit to Tehran saw both nations making "major progress" in discussions, according to Naqvi. The Pakistani military's statement emphasized the talks' aim to prevent further escalation, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and swiftly resolve the conflict.

Naqvi also mentioned that Iranian President shared his government's viewpoint, leading to "extremely constructive" talks on relevant issues. Additionally, Reuters disclosed that Naqvi had conversed with former US President Donald Trump before his trip. The US President had threatened economic repercussions against any nation providing support to Iran as part of efforts to isolate the country. Iran, however, committed to ceasing oil exports from the Gulf.
