Pakistan Aviation Authority Bans Employees from Criticizing Federal Govt on Social Media

The Pakistan Aviation Authority has issued an order prohibiting its employees, union representatives, and office-holders from expressing negative opinions about the federal government or the authority on social media and other public platforms. Violating this directive could be deemed misconduct under the organization's service regulations and could lead to disciplinary consequences.

The instruction explicitly bans employees from publishing, sharing, endorsing, or distributing any content that criticizes the federal government, the aviation authority, or their respective actions. It also prohibits the dissemination of insulting or unauthorized statements against public officials of the federal government, the authority, or any government or public-sector entity.

The restrictions encompass criticism of government policies, decisions, and public actions. Employees have been advised to refrain from posting or sharing any material that falls within these prohibited categories. The authority made it clear that those who disregard these instructions will be held accountable under applicable laws and regulations. These new guidelines went into effect immediately.
