Norwegian public services targeted by cyberattack

Since yesterday, several public services in Norway have been targeted by cyberattacks, according to Anadolu Ajansi, quoting broadcaster NRK. The Norwegian Digitalisation Agency (Digdir) informed NRK that the attack commenced overnight and persisted with "undiminished force" for approximately 30 hours. As a result, ten services were reportedly affected by the issues.

This incident marks the third denial-of-service attack that Digdir has experienced in the past nine weeks. Press officer Are Kvistad stated that this latest attack is "two to three times larger" than previous ones. While officials are hesitant to attribute the attack to a specific entity, Kvistad suggested that recovering all systems to full functionality may take some time, even after the attack is halted and the problems are resolved.

It is worth noting that hackers have not gained access to the sensitive information stored within the systems.
