New York offers discounted US$100 US Open tickets for residents

The New York Tennis Association has announced that 1,000 US Open tickets will be available for purchase at a discounted rate of $100 each, specifically for New York residents. Mayor Zohran Mamdani, along with the US Tennis Association, made the announcement on Tuesday, stating that tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10am (1400 GMT) on Wednesday.

Mamdani expressed his excitement about the opportunity for New Yorkers to witness the world's top tennis players in action. The tickets will cover matches from August 30 to September 8, allowing access to the main Arthur Ashe Stadium during the first quarterfinal stage of the tournament. Craig Tiley, CEO of the USTA, emphasized the organization's commitment to making tennis accessible to all, and praised the initiative of offering Main Draw tickets to New York residents. Visitors who wish to attend qualifying matches can obtain a free pass from August 23 to 29.
