Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.15%

Netherlands stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the AEX index falling by 0.15%, according to Reuters. The decline was primarily driven by losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials, and Oil & Gas sectors. SBM Offshore NV led the session with a 2.38% gain, while Koninklijke KPN NV and Universal Music Group NV also closed in the positive.

On the other hand, BE Semiconductor Industries NV, Wolters Kluwer, and IMCD NV were among the worst performers, with respective declines of 4.23%, 3.07%, and 1.95%. The number of rising stocks outweighed the declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 56 to 38, with 10 ending unchanged. The AEX Volatility index remained steady at 21.09.

Crude oil for October delivery dipped by 3.32% to $82.19 a barrel, while Brent oil for November delivery fell by 3.45% to $87.42. Gold Futures for December rose by 0.16% to $4,705.31 per troy ounce. EUR/USD and EUR/GBP remained unchanged at 1.17 and 0.86, respectively. Lastly, the US Dollar Index Futures saw a slight drop of 0.06% to 98.87.
