Navi Mumbai: MNS Urge NMMC To Introduce Fever Profile Testing At Nerul, Karave Civic Health Centres Amid Monsoon Disease Rise

On August 25, 2026, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) demanded that the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) introduce Fever Profile blood testing at two civic health centres in Navi Mumbai. The demand was made due to a rise in dengue and malaria cases during the monsoon season. MNS Navi Mumbai city secretary Sachin Kadam submitted the request to NMMC medical officer Dr Rajesh Mhatre.

Currently, residents of Ward 26 face inconvenience when they develop fever, as doctors generally advise a malaria test, which can take up to two days for further investigations. For dengue testing, residents must travel around four kilometres to the Meenatai Thackeray Hospital. Kadam stated that the absence of a Fever Profile facility at the two health centres could delay diagnosis and treatment.

The Fever Profile includes tests for dengue, malaria, typhoid, leptospirosis, and a complete blood count (CBC), providing an early diagnosis of the cause of fever. NMMC assured the MNS delegation that the facility would be introduced at the two health centres at the earliest.
