NASCAR to Daytona with Denny Hamlin clinched and Ryan Preece's potty mouth in play
Ryan Blaney won the New Hampshire race and hopes to lock up second place in the standings this week at Daytona's Coke Zero Sugar 400.
Denny Hamlin has clinched first place in the NASCAR championship just ahead of the upcoming Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona. This marks the 10th consecutive year the popular race has served as the season finale. Ryan Blaney, who won at New Hampshire last week, is currently 44 points ahead of second-place Ty Gibbs. Tyler Reddick and Carson Hocevar are experiencing a rough stretch, with Hocevar managing a 19th-place finish at New Hampshire despite multiple crashes.
Meanwhile, Ryan Preece's race at Texas Motor Speedway saw him fined $50,000 and penalized 25 driver points for aggressive behavior towards Ty Gibbs, potentially costing him a playoff spot.
