Methu denies Ndindi Nyoro’s claim that he funded DCP’s Ol Kalou campaign

Nyandarua Senator John Methu, the Secretary-General of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), has refuted claims made by Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro that he provided financial support to the DCP candidate Sammy Kamau during the recent Ol Kalou by-election. During his welcoming speech for Kamkunji Member of Parliament Abdullahi Yusuf, Methu firmly denied any involvement in funding the campaign, stating that he neither received nor controlled any funds.

He further claimed that DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua was unaware of any such financial contributions. Methu accused others of hastily claiming involvement in the campaign's success, emphasizing his sole leadership role in the Ol Kalou election efforts. This controversy follows Nyoro's recent statements with Kameme Radio, where he denied any animosity towards DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, claiming his support for the candidate was to make a political statement to President William Ruto.

The situation is further complicated by the emergence of other opposition parties, labeled by DCP officials as creations of the "deep state" and linked to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
