Maverick Games partners with Focus Entertainment to publish debut racing title Clutch

French publisher Focus Entertainment has joined forces with Maverick Games to release their first racing game, Clutch. The two companies inked a partnership in 2024, but Maverick previously collaborated with Amazon Game Studios. Amazon opted to shift focus to projects that utilize Amazon's strengths earlier this year. Maverick co-founder and COO Harinder Sangha expressed that the studio is actively exploring potential partners who align with their vision for the IP.

Focus Entertainment sees Clutch as a significant addition to their lineup, entering the open-world racing genre. The game is slated for a Spring 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Focus' deputy CEO Vincent Chataignier praised Maverick's creative leadership in the racing genre, noting that Clutch embodies the ambitious game they wish to promote.

Mike Brown, Maverick's founder and CEO, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that Focus shares his creative vision for Clutch. Both companies hail from France and aim to deliver a standout racing experience. Founded in 2023 by former Playground Games developers, Maverick Games' mission is to realize the open-world racing concept they've long envisioned.
