프로배구 KB손보, 새 시즌 ‘임시 안방’ 평택으로 결정

The KB (Korean Baseball) handball team, known as 케이비(KB), has selected 평택 (Pyeongtaek) as the interim home venue for their league matches in the 2026∼2027 season. The decision was made on the 25th, where KB stated they will play their first league match of the season on November 1st against 삼성화재 at the 이충문화체육센터 (Ichon Culture Sports Center) in 평택.

Previously, the team had used 의정부체육관 (Yegwang Gymnasium) as their home venue since 2024, but in November 2024, a precision safety inspection of the building revealed structural safety concerns, effectively leaving them without a home ground. After trying out various backup venues like 인천 계양체육관 (Incheon Kangwon Sports Center), 안산 상록수체육관 (Asan Sosu Sports Center), and 의정부 경민대체육관 (Yegwang University Sports Center), the latter was deemed unsuitable due to safety recommendations following a 2025 safety inspection.

Following a range of discussions with various local governments, 평택시 (Pyeongtaek City) was eventually chosen as the new home venue for the upcoming season because of its favorable facilities and operational environment. 평택시장 최원용 expressed his satisfaction, stating that citizens will be able to experience high-level handball events up close and that the municipality aims to provide new leisure culture for citizens through this partnership.
