Japan’s Defense Ministry to Begin Development on New Air Defense System in FY27
The Defense Ministry plans to start developing a new interceptor system from fiscal 2027 as part of its efforts to fundamentally strengthen Japan’s air defense capabilities in light of the intensifying drone and missile attacks seen in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, according to sources.
