Jamie Dimon and his wife, Judith, donate $12 million to 12 HBCUs—betting they’re the ‘springboard to success’ for the next generation

Jamie Dimon, former CEO of JPMorgan Chase, and his wife Judith have made a generous $12 million donation to twelve historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The gift, established through their foundation, The James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation, aims to provide permanent endowment capital to these institutions. Jamie and Judith Dimon explained that their donation is focused on "the springboard to success for thousands of students in pursuit of the American Dream."

The selected HBCUs include Benedict College, Dillard University, Edward Waters University, Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian University, Johnson C. Smith University, Miles College, Oakwood University, Shaw University, Stillman College, Tuskegee University, and Voorhees University. This donation is part of UNCF's $1.5 billion capital campaign and will help HBCUs prepare teachers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, which are high-demand fields for first-generation students.
