Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave to Get New Roads, Walking and Cycling Tracks

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the acceleration of construction in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, ensuring enhanced facilities and heightened security for diplomatic missions and residents. Naqvi surveyed the enclave on Tuesday to evaluate ongoing infrastructure projects. He examined the boundary wall, security checkpoint redesign, cycling and walking tracks during his visit.

Naqvi emphasized the necessity of uninterrupted boundary wall construction and explicitly instructed that no trees should be removed during the development process. Furthermore, he advocated for the development of the cycling and walking tracks in line with contemporary planning standards. Authorities were also instructed to widen roads in the enclave to enhance traffic flow and accessibility.

Naqvi requested the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security to prepare a revised security plan tailored to current requirements. He announced the restoration and upgrading of parks in the area, aiming to transform the Diplomatic Enclave into a secure and efficiently managed diplomatic zone with improved infrastructure and public spaces.

During the briefing, the CDA Chairman outlined ongoing projects, timelines, and future development plans. The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad and other senior officials were also present during the visit.
