Irish actress Evanna Lynch marries fiancée in London

Irish actress Evanna Lynch, renowned for her portrayal of Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter film series, married her partner of nearly five years, Denis Skinner, in an intimate ceremony held in London. The 35-year-old actress made her film debut in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" in 2007, but had been corresponding with author J.K. Rowling as pen pals prior to her breakthrough role. The couple reportedly first met in a London pub two years prior, where Skinner was working as a bartender.

Lynch sought guidance from an astrologist to plan her wedding, selecting 21 August as the ceremony date, as 22 August was occupied and she was advised to circumvent the solar eclipse on that day. The actress wore a vintage skirt paired with a corset by Ellie Sanderson for her wedding day. Her husband, Skinner, chose green corduroy tailoring from Suit Supply and Rothy's shoes, crafted from recycled plastic bottles, reflecting his eco-friendly values.

The ceremony took place at Islington Town Hall in London, described by Lynch as "very sweet and simple".

The happy pair was accompanied by their dog Malo during the event. Vogue shared photographs of the couple, as well as snapshots from their reception at Wilton's Music Hall, where they hired a swing band to entertain guests. Lynch revealed that she had initially been skeptical about wedding planning, but gradually grew to appreciate the unique and special nature of the occasion.

Prior to her engagement, Lynch mentioned that she had been aware Skinner would propose after an argument years earlier. In 2023, he orchestrated a private engagement surrounded by nature, coinciding with her 32nd birthday.
