IPP calls for creation of new provinces

Punjab President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Rana Nazir Ahmed Khan, has called for the creation of new provinces in Pakistan, stating that it is a matter of national interest and the country's future generations' well-being. During a press conference, Khan emphasized that Pakistan's recent military success in defeating a larger country in war should be a catalyst for bolstering the nation's economy and stability.

Khan proposed that Pakistan be divided into 12 to 14 provinces, arguing that smaller administrative units would enhance public services and expedite development. He highlighted that Punjab, with its larger population than 174 countries, necessitates further division into administrative units.

The IPP Punjab president pointed out that Bahawalpur, once granted provincial status by Quaid-e-Azam, has not regained its status following the implementation of the One Unit system. He urged the restoration of Bahawalpur's province status.

Khan also stressed that the creation of new provinces would bolster political representation, facilitate government affairs' proximity to citizens, and increase competition among provinces for development. He called for all political parties and politicians to support this national interest agenda, transcending narrow political concerns.

The IPP leader asserted that the nation has earned great honor for Pakistan, which is now respected internationally. However, Khan cautioned that this respect must be transformed into economic development and prosperity to ensure a better future for Pakistan. He concluded by emphasizing that the movement for creating new provinces belongs to the nation and its responsibility to make Pakistan stronger, more prosperous, and developed for generations to come.
