iPhone, property or tensions: What pushed Maharashtra family over the edge?

The Chandgude family tragedy in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has left many questions unanswered. Initially, the story centered around an iPhone and an argument between husband Murlidhar Chandgude and wife Sangita. Police reports suggested Kunal, the son, wanted the device or needed his father to pay EMIs, putting pressure on household finances.

However, later investigations ruled out the iPhone theory, focusing instead on broader family tensions. Assistant Police Inspector Naresh Thakre stated that a dispute between the couple was the likely cause of the incident. Sangita reportedly expressed reservations about her husband visiting his family, which contributed to the problem.

The Chandgudes lived apart for ten to fifteen years, but in the past three months, Murlidhar began visiting his parents. Kunal arrived at Khawadya Hill first, and his parents rushed to him after learning about his potential suicide threat. They gathered on a cliff between 200 and 250 feet high for three hours, pleading with him.

At 1 pm, the situation worsened, and Kunal fell from the cliff, followed by his father. Sangita also jumped. Grieving family members have disputed the initial narratives, challenging the iPhone and EMI theories. They have released videos showing affection and a plea for the family to nurture relationships. While these videos offer a different perspective, they do not provide clear motive, responsibility, or sequence of events.

The current police investigation centers on a dispute between Murlidhar and Sangita, leaving the fate of the Chandgude family unresolved.
