India’s new Consul General visits Guru Nanak Darbar

Dr. Emmadi Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, India's newly appointed Consul General in Dubai and Northern Emirates, visited Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara on August 22nd, 2026. He was greeted warmly by Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari, the Gurudwara's Chairman, alongside the Board and Gurudwara management. Reddy paid his respects at the Darbar Sahib and took part in Langar Sewa, serving meals to Sangat members. This act showcased Sikh values of selfless service, humility, and equality, which are key to Langar traditions.

Reddy was given an overview of Guru Nanak Darbar's history and its significance as a faith center, community service hub, and interfaith harmony advocate in the UAE. Dr. Kandhari congratulated Reddy on his new role, expressing confidence in his ability to maintain strong ties between the Indian community and the UAE under his leadership.

Reddy learned about Guru Nanak Darbar's humanitarian efforts, including their commitment to selfless service, aiding those in need, fostering interfaith relations, and promoting the UAE's values of tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect.

Kandhari expressed delight at welcoming Reddy to Guru Nanak Darbar and wished him success in his new position. He valued his participation in Langar Sewa, highlighting the spirit of service and equality. The visit concluded with a meeting with the Gurudwara community and a Saropa presentation to Reddy, symbolizing respect and goodwill.
