I am confident past issues will not affect my vetting – Paul Afoko

Paul Afoko, the National Chairman hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed confidence that his past issues within the party will not hinder his vetting for the upcoming national executive elections. Afoko, who stated he has a clear conscience, emphasized his commitment to the NPP's return to power in the 2028 elections.

He assured that his motivation is to serve the party and its people, and he expressed optimism about the party's ability to regain political power if members unite and work together. Afoko identified empowering constituency executives as one of his priorities, as he believes they are the ones working diligently to build and sustain the party at the grassroots level.

He also revealed that he has already initiated efforts to unite various factions within the party, meeting with presidential candidates and the flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Afoko urged the NPP to view itself as a single entity and avoid divisions to increase their chances of regaining power. He described the NPP's current pursuit as a spiritual journey and called for collective commitment from all party members as they prepare for the 2028 elections.
