Gwalior man fined for over 3,400 kiss marks on car: Under what law was he penalised?

The fine was imposed because the alterations to the car’s structure resulted in a change in its basic features, in contrast to the original details registered in the car’s Certificate of Registration.

Section 52 of the MV Act specifically prohibits any changes to a vehicle that differ from the particulars specified in the registration certificate, requiring owners to report such modifications within 14 days and update the registration records accordingly. The man was also mandated to clean the car to remove the kiss marks as part of the penalty.
