Ghana Chamber of Mines commends gov’t for resolving Adamus Resources Limited dispute.

The Ghana Chamber of Mines has lauded the government for making strides in resolving the dispute involving Adamus Resources Limited, deeming the reached agreement a crucial step towards revitalizing the mine and safeguarding jobs. The Chamber expressed its approval of the 12-month roadmap intended to rejuvenate the mine's operations, which will be facilitated by a six-member joint management team.

In a statement to The Ghanaian Times on Monday in Accra, the Chamber highlighted the agreement as a testament to the parties' commitment to dialogue and the preservation of Ghana's mining sector.

The Chamber emphasized the significance of reviving Adamus Resources Limited, as it represents one of the nation's few indigenous large-scale mining operations. Restoring the mine to sustainable operations would not only protect jobs but also bolster businesses within host communities and contribute to government revenue and the broader mining value chain, according to the Chamber.

The Chamber also praised the efforts of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, and the Minerals Commission leadership in devising a practical resolution.

The Chamber acknowledged Adamus Resources Limited for its constructive involvement in resolving the dispute and urged all parties to adhere to the agreed roadmap, ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation process. It stressed the need to address remaining liabilities and secure the necessary investments to restore the mine to a sustainable and productive state.

The Chamber affirmed that the success of this process would benefit not only the company but also workers, businesses, host communities, and the Ghanaian economy at large.
