Former Gunner could leave Brighton despite £7.5m bid rejected

Former Arsenal youth winger Amario Cozier-Duberry could leave Brighton despite a £7.5m bid being rejected. Brighton and Hove Albion are deciding whether to sell or retain the player, opting against another loan option. The 21-year-old is set to either stay at Brighton or complete a permanent transfer exit this week. Brighton has already turned down bids from Anderlecht for £5m, and offers from Rangers for £6m and £7.5m.

Cozier-Duberry, under contract until 2028, has yet to agree to new terms and has previously attracted interest from Augsburg and Paris FC. Loan interest has also been widespread, but Brighton has rejected it all to either keep or sell the player for a profit. Cozier-Duberry made his senior competitive debut for Brighton in their Conference League qualifier last Thursday, but dropped out of the squad for the Premier League opener against Aston Villa, suggesting a transfer may be imminent.

Over the summer, Cozier-Duberry scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists on loan at Bolton, helping them secure promotion to the Championship through the play-offs. Despite a knee injury limiting him to 41 appearances in all competitions during the 2023-24 season, Cozier-Duberry moved from Arsenal to Brighton for a training compensation fee in 2024 after refusing to sign a new deal with the North London club.
