Ex-auditor-general defends Tabung Haji audit, says no evidence of theft found

In a Facebook post, Masjid Tanah Bersatu information chief Rodzi Mat Rejab published an allegedly defamatory claim about opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin in connection with Tabung Haji. The opposition leader's lawyers subsequently sent a letter of demand to Rodzi over the post. Rodzi acknowledged that he had republished the claim without proper verification, and that he took full responsibility for the post, which could have caused misunderstandings about Hamzah.

He expressed no intention of tarnishing the dignity, reputation or credibility of anyone. Rodzi has since deleted the post and acknowledged that it was based on information from other social media accounts, but that he remained equally responsible for republishing it. He acknowledged that other legal processes were ongoing, and said he would leave them to the authorities to handle.
