“Europe is aging rapidly”: Solace Care raises €2.1 million in largest pre-Seed round to date for a European end-of-life platform

Solace Care, a Stockholm-based end-of-life platform, has successfully raised €2.1 million in a pre-Seed round, setting a new record for its largest investment to date. The round was led by Spintop Ventures and included participation from Plug and Play, Caroline Farberger, Fredrik Solberg, Emil Lagerstedt-Karlsson, Tomi Yli-Kyyny, Stefan Moritz, Further Than Capital, Mattias Miksche, Krim Talia, and Wave Ventures.

The funds will be used to expand their insurer and broker partnerships, enter the Netherlands and the UK, and grow their product and commercial teams.

Solace Care's CEO and co-founder, Valtteri Korkiakoski, explained that current insurance payouts leave families to manage the next six months on their own. Their platform aims to redefine personal insurance by providing support beyond the initial payment, helping families stay afloat. Solace Care's CEO, Josef Karakoca, added that life insurance has been marketed with the same promise for decades, but Solace Care offers a unique product that delivers more to families before and after a loss.

The platform, which went live with its first policyholders in mid-2025, has since grown to cover over 25,000 lives across Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Korkiakoski emphasized that Europe is aging rapidly, and no European player currently owns the end-of-life space. He believes Solace Care will change the way people think about death and insurance.
