Eric Tinkler calls on Kotoko fans for support ahead of Democracy Cup

Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has urged the club's supporters to show their backing for the Porcupine Warriors ahead of their upcoming Democracy Cup match on August 28 at the Baba Yara Stadium. The South African tactician is confident that the fans' presence can bolster his team's morale and contribute to a strong performance.

Tinkler, who joined Kotoko in July with the aim of establishing a competitive side for the new season, wants to foster a close relationship between the team and its passionate supporters. As preparations for the Democracy Cup intensify, the head coach hopes the Baba Yara Stadium will be filled with the club's loyal fans, creating an electrifying atmosphere to inspire the players throughout the match.

With a strong fan base, Tinkler believes the supporters' presence can give the team an extra edge, especially in a fixture expected to garner significant attention. The Democracy Cup is not only a test for the players but also an opportunity to reinforce the bond between the team and its supporters before the 2026/27 football season.

Tinkler uses this encounter to evaluate his squad and fine-tune his strategies for the upcoming campaign. He urges the club's faithful to turn out in large numbers on August 28 and make their presence known at the Baba Yara Stadium, as he believes the players will gain confidence and energy from the crowd's support amidst their quest to deliver a memorable performance for the fans to cherish.
