EPL: Daniel Sturridge names player he’s excited to watch this season

Former Liverpool player Daniel Sturridge has expressed his excitement for the upcoming season under new manager Andoni Iraola. The Reds are set to begin a fresh chapter in their football journey. Sturridge highlighted 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha as a player he is particularly thrilled about. Ngumoha's dribbling skills are a major highlight of his game, according to Sturridge.

He believes that adding goals to Ngumoha's repertoire would elevate his performance to the next level. Sturridge noted that Ngumoha is comfortable on the left wing but has the potential to excel on the right as well. He advised Ngumoha to start scoring goals and delivering precise crosses or passes into crucial areas once he reaches the byline.

Sturridge also emphasized the importance of Ngumoha communicating with teammates Isak and Wirtz about his aspirations and what he requires to fulfill his role. Ngumoha made his debut on the right wing, a position previously held by Mohamed Salah for nearly a decade, during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in the first match of the season.

Last season, Ngumoha scored two goals and provided one assist in 551 minutes across 19 Premier League appearances.
