Country music legend Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80 in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday. Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death in a video, stating that Dolly wanted to rest in a bed of plush cotton after a life of wearing heavy rhinestones. Parton, who spent her early years in a poor Tennessee family, began her musical journey as a child, performing in church and on local television shows.

By age 10, she was learning guitar and singing, eventually appearing at the Grand Ole Opry in 1958. Her career skyrocketed with hits like "I Will Always Love You" and collaborations with artists like Whitney Houston. Parton also founded the Imagination Library, donating free books to children in Tennessee. Her influence extended beyond music, as she opened doors for countless singers and songwriters worldwide.

Seaver praised Dolly's example, saying she never saw a door she couldn't open, leading to historical changes.
