Did Players Know They Were Having 'Non-Veg Tea'? Bombay HC Asks FDA To Reinspect MCA Eateries After Cockroaches, Flies Found

Mumbai's Bombay High Court has ordered the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reinspect five eateries within the Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) premises in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) following serious hygiene violations found during an earlier inspection. The court also directed MCA to clean the premises before the fresh inspection on Thursday, and stated that FDA should lift the suspension if outlets comply with food safety requirements.

The court questioned whether players were aware they were consuming non-vegetarian tea, made from ingredients found during the inspection which included cockroaches and flies in the kitchens. The court permitted MCA to provide tea and coffee to players through vending machines, prohibiting all other activities at the eateries.
