Detenido un entrenador por violar y dejar embarazada a una menor en Palma

A Bolivian volleyball coach has been arrested in Palma for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old minor. The incident occurred in June when the coach, aged 23, invited the victim and another girl, aged 15, to eat at his home. The coach had been training the teenagers for several seasons.

After dinner, the other girl left, but the victim remained in the house. According to sources, the coach took her to a room, forced her to undress, and then raped her, threatening her to keep quiet about the incident. A relative noticed a change in the girl's behavior and, weeks later, when she became ill, she went to a Palma hospital where it was confirmed she was pregnant.

Upon receiving the complaint, the National Police's Family and Woman's Attention Unit arrested the suspect on suspicion of rape and handed him over to the court. The young man was released from custody on Saturday with charges and a restraining order.
