Aubrey's soccer career began at Notre Dame, where he played as a center back for four years, winning a national championship in 2013 and being named a first-team All-ACC selection. He then pursued a professional soccer career, starting with Toronto FC in 2017, where he won two titles before moving to Bethlehem Steel FC. His dedication to the sport paid off as he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
