CAF reinforces Safety, Security standards ahead of 2026/27 season

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reiterated its dedication to prioritizing safety and security in its competitions as preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 season intensify. This commitment was evident during a virtual CAF Interclub Safety and Security meeting, which brought together Club Safety and Security Officers from participating clubs in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds.

The meeting, organized online, focused on strengthening safety and security standards across CAF competitions. Participants were educated on critical operational aspects, including integrated planning, stadium security, access control, crowd management, communication protocols, and daily reporting procedures. Dr. Christian Emeruwa, Head of CAF's Safety and Security Department, emphasized that achieving safe and secure match environments is a collective effort, stressing the importance of shared responsibility among all stakeholders involved in CAF competitions.

CAF remains committed to upholding the highest safety and security standards, collaborating closely with clubs, Member Associations, and local authorities to ensure a secure environment for Africa's premier club competitions.
