‘Budget of female-led film is very less’: Taapsee Pannu reveals challenge behind Gandhari

At a recent event in Mumbai, Taapsee Pannu unveiled the trailer for her latest film, Gandhari. The action thriller follows a visually impaired mother's relentless efforts to protect her child at all costs. Pannu, who plays the lead character, shared that she collaborated with a person who was visually impaired to accurately portray the nuances of her role.

This included understanding the character's gait, perception of shadows, and peripheral vision to help her with her body language. Pannu's interest in the project stemmed from her open-mindedness towards action films after her previous roles in Baby and Naam Shabana. She was particularly drawn to the film's unique emotional-driven approach to action.

Directed by Devashish Makhija, Gandhari also features Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Mita Vashisht, and Jatin Sarna. The film, which explores the boundless lengths a mother would go to save her child, will be available on Netflix starting September 3.
