BN tentu kerjasama politik lepas DUN Melaka bubar

Umno Deputy President Johari Ghani has stated that political cooperation within the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the lead-up to the Melaka PRN will only be determined after the dissolution of the DUN. Ghani's remarks were made following the Umno and PAS General Sessions held at Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to that, PAS President Hadi Awang reportedly stated that talks for cooperation between the National Unity Government (PN) and BN for the Melaka PRN have commenced since August 20.

Additionally, Pakatan Harapan (PH) through Returning Officer Amirudin Shari has been given the responsibility to conduct discussions with BN. BN Secretary-General Zahid Hamidi said on Friday, such a collaboration needs a formula suited to the geopolitical landscape in Melaka come the upcoming PRN. Zahid said the formula in question may not necessarily follow the same model used in Johor and Negeri Sembilan PRNs.

He said he has mandated the BN Melaka Secretary Ab Rauf Yusoh to hold discussions with other parties, with the outcome to be brought to the national level for further scrutiny before being endorsed. During the 2021 Melaka PRN, BN held 21 seats, while PH secured five and PN two.
