Awal Mohammed files for Nasara Organiser, vows to rebuild NPP Nasara structures ahead of 2028

Awal Mohammed, a candidate for the National Nasara Organiser position in the NPP, has announced his intention to strengthen the party's Nasara structures and mobilize Zongo communities ahead of the 2028 elections. Speaking after filing his nomination on August 25, Mr. Mohammed emphasized his communication experience within the NPP's communications team, stating that he believes he is the best person to lead the newly rebranded Nasara Wing.

One of his primary objectives is to establish effective structures for the Nasara Wing, from grassroots to higher levels. He highlighted the lack of a system to track members, particularly students involved in the Nasara Wing on university campuses, as a significant challenge. Mr. Mohammed plans to address this issue by establishing structures from the grassroots level to ensure the party possesses necessary data and organizational capacity.

The candidate also emphasized the importance of effective communication to improve the NPP's image in Zongo communities. He pointed to the party's achievements in the Zongo communities during its time in government, such as the establishment of a Zongo Development Fund and making Arabic examinable, which were achieved during the NPP's eight years in office. However, he acknowledged that the party failed to effectively communicate these achievements to the communities.

Mohammed expressed confidence in his communication skills, citing his experience engaging international media outlets, including the BBC, VOA, and DW, in Hausa. He believes this experience will enable him to communicate the NPP's message more effectively to Zongo communities and convey the differences between the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His ultimate goal is to strengthen the Nasara Wing and mobilize support in Zongo communities ahead of the 2028 elections.
