AIICO Insurance Warns Public against Deals With Former Agent

AIICO Insurance Plc has expressed concern over a series of false and misleading allegations being spread by its former agent, Mr. Obinna Adolphus Nwosu, to various parties, including regulatory bodies, law enforcement, media, and the general public. The insurance company stated that Nwosu's status as an agent was terminated, prompting AIICO to publish a public warning in national newspapers on June 26, 2025, advising customers and the public to refrain from engaging in any business dealings with him in relation to AIICO Insurance Plc. Despite this warning, Nwosu has continued to spread false and misleading information about the company through digital platforms and direct communications with stakeholders.

AIICO emphasized that these allegations are false and urged everyone to treat them with caution. The company has decided to handle the matter through the appropriate legal channels and has initiated a defamation lawsuit against Nwosu at the Lagos State High Court. AIICO has declined to participate in a public debate with a former agent who continues to make unsubstantiated claims while the case is being resolved in the courts.
