Ahead of Brazil clash, India to face Panama in friendly match next month
The All India Football Federation announced on Tuesday that India will play Panama in a friendly match on September 26, just days before their historic clash against Brazil. The exact venue for the match has yet to be determined. This will be the first time India and Panama face off, marking a historic encounter for both teams. Panama, currently ranked 44th in the FIFA World Rankings, will be a new opponent for the Indian men's national team.
The fixture has been added to the AIFF's calendar after India withdrew from the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup to prioritize their high-profile clash with Brazil on October 3. This will be the first of four matches India will play against World Cup nations this summer, with Brazil, New Zealand, and another yet to be determined team scheduled to follow.
